The VA offers pension for low income wartime veterans who meet certain criteria. VA pension is a monthly payment given to veterans who qualify.

The VA offers pension for low income wartime veterans who meet certain criteria. VA pension is a monthly payment given to veterans who qualify.

While not the only eligibility requirement, one of these must be true to even qualify:

Must be 65 years or older
Permanent and total disability
Patient in nursing home for long-term care because of a disability
Recipient of Social Security Disability or Supplemental Security Income

Veterans can also qualify for the VA’s Aid and Attendance benefit and Housebound allowance. This is a monthly payment included above the normal VA pension. This program is for those eligible veterans who qualify for the VA pension and need assistance with daily activities or are housebound.
